This toolkit introduces human-centred design, a problem-solving process that starts with understanding the community and context surrounding a challenge. Designing for people and their everyday interactions allows us to solve for the right problems. A well-functioning digital solution fails if it only works in theory and does not anticipate issues faced by frontline workers, members of the community, caregivers, and the existing systems that surround them. No health expert or digital strategist has more knowledge than a Community Health Worker or Nurse about how to solve their problem. The methodologies in this toolkit acknowledge this by focusing on observing, interacting with, and designing for the people that we seek to serve in addition to looking at technical constraints and specifications.
This reference design demonstrates the use of IWR6843, which is a single-chip mmWave radar sensor with integrated DSP for an indoor and outdoor people counting application. This reference design uses the IWR6843ISK evaluation module (EVM) and integrates a complete radar processing chain onto the IWR6843 device. This solution can detect up to 250 objects, and point and track up to 20 people with a field of view (FOV) of 60º in the azimuth (horizontal) plane.
Therefore, if you plan to share Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, or Excel files with other people, you'll want to know which fonts are native to the version of Office that the recipient is using. If it isn't native, you may have to embed or distribute the font along with the Word file, PowerPoint presentation, or Excel spreadsheet. For more information about this see Fonts that are installed with Microsoft Office.
On July 28, our staff walked through the findings and, with the help of two special guests, discussed the toll that this crisis is taking on communities and people across the country. Catch up with the full recording and hear from Ken Rose, Chief of the Physical Activity and Health Branch, CDC, Charles Brown, Founder & CEO, Equitable Cities LLC, and Beth Osborne, Vice President of Transportation and Thriving Communities, Smart Growth America.
While the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic upended many aspects of daily life, including how people get around, one terrible, long-term trend was unchanged: the alarming increase in people being struck and killed while walking.
The number of people struck and killed while walking reached yet another new high in 2020. More than 6,500 people were struck and killed while walking in 2020, an average of nearly 18 per day, and a 4.5 percent increase over 2019.
Low-income communities are significantly less likely to have access to parks and other opportunities for safe recreational walking and are less likely to have sidewalks, marked crosswalks, and street design to support safer, slower speeds. Lower-income neighborhoods are also much more likely to contain major arterial roads built for high speeds and higher traffic volumes at intersections, exacerbating dangerous conditions for people walking.
The design of Union Avenue, located in the heart of Memphis, TN (#3 most dangerous metro in this report) is typical of the most dangerous roads for people on foot within metro areas. 60 percent of all 2020 deaths occurred on non-interstate arterial highways like this one. Within urban areas, that number grows to between 64 and 67 percent, according to NACTO. The below graphic examines five ways that speed is prioritized on Union Ave. at the expense of safety, and the contradictory messages sent to drivers: expect to see and yield to people outside of vehicles, and expect to travel fast all the time.
This graphic below, looking at a specific intersection on Union Avenue, shows four specific design components that lead to danger for people on foot, some of which exist solely to prioritize speedy car travel.

With a design project registered with (made available to) an Altium 365 Workspace, you have the ability to share that design with other people. This can be to other members of your Workspace team, or to people outside of the team. To share in this manner, click to select the entry, on the left side of the Share dialog.
With preparation complete, a project selected, and a target Workspace connected, you can proceed to specify which person (or people) the project is to be shared with. To check who already has access to the project, click on the Shared with control. The region will expand to show with whom the project is shared and whether they have editing rights (Can Edit), or can view and comment on the project only (Can View).
Set the sharing access permissions for the added people/roles from the associated drop-down menu by selecting Can View () or Can Edit (), where the latter option inherently includes viewing capability. The setting initially applies to all entries (people/roles) included in the field. Use the optional note field to include information that relates to the sharing arrangement for this project.
If you are sharing an unmanaged, local project (not under external VCS), the project will be made available in the currently connected Workspace at the time the project is shared with the nominated people. What actually happens depends on whether you are sharing for viewing or editing:
At any time, an Administrator (or Workspace team member with editing rights) can modify the existing access permissions for a project. To access the list of existing shared people and roles for a project click the entry on the left side of the Share dialog, then expand the Shared with field on the right.
Click the button to generate the link to the design snapshot. In the background, the project itself is packaged into a Zip archive using Altium Designer's Project Packager. Once the link is ready, click the button to copy it, and then share with the required people as needed.
Firefox is the only browser with tools built specifically for building and designing with CSS Grid. These tools allow you to visualize the grid, display associated area names, preview transformations on the grid and much more.

As any graphic designer will tell you, some projects are not complete until there is some decent accompanying photography. Shots of people in various situations or city landscapes can add that extra something. Here are our favourite free stock image sites to browse and enjoy. But designers, ensure you keep a record of where you sourced each stock picture from for future reference.
Offering a mix of "beautiful photos of black and brown people, for free", Nappy was founded to address the traditional stock photo sites that were once lacking in diversity.
